Beacon Behavioral Hospital, one of the largest and most established behavioral health programs in Louisiana, is seeking MHT's for Full-time NIGHT Shifts. For over 20 years, Beacon employs caring staff at locations across southeast Louisiana: Baton Rouge, Metairie, Slidell, Hammond, Houma, Bogalusa, Bunkie, Opelousas, and Lutcher. We currently provide inpatient programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that provide therapy to those struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders.

To fulfill this mission, Beacon Behavioral Hospital seeks dedicated, compassionate, and professional staff in a variety of roles within behavioral health services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Demonstrates teamwork by carrying out routine and assigned tasks within the Beacon Behavioral Hospital program.
- Assists in provision of maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu by monitoring and complying with program rules and hospital policies.
- Observes patients in accordance with prescriber orders and hospital policy; documents and reports findings to supervisor immediately if behavior and/or activity is significant.
- Conducts and documents safety rounds per policy.
- Provides assistance in management of patients who exhibit escalating behavior, in accordance with hospital training and policy.
- Documents patient activities, significant occurrences, observed behavior, vital signs, and other findings as assigned by the nursing staff and determined by hospital policy.
- Assists patients in completing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), as needed. This may include hygiene, grooming, toileting, eating, and other functions.
- Displays flexibility and willingness to work with others.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and offers solutions; discusses with appropriate personnel (i.e. supervisors).
- Consistently demonstrates vision, foresight, good judgement and customer sensitivity.
- Models productive, healthy behavior and interactions with co-workers, patients, and others.
- Performs job with efficiency necessary to complete assignments within established time restraints and procedural guidelines.
- Organizes and prioritizes work while being cost-effective and conserving resources.
- Deals constructively with stress.
- Offers and accepts constructive feedback and responds appropriately to direction.
- Is punctual in all aspects of work, and adheres to attendance policy.
- Exhibits good physical and mental health as evidenced by warm empathic attitude.
- Shows respect for the dignity and worth of others.
- Demonstrates a high sense of personal integrity.
- Complies with hospital, state, and federal requirements for certification and training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and management of individuals escalating behavior.
- Performs other duties and special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One year of experience working with customers/clients required. Formal education in behavioral health may be substituted.
- Two years of experience in a health care setting preferred.
- Speaks, reads, and writes English.
