Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Individual Giving, the Mid-Level Gift Officer is an excellent position to balance frontline fundraising with data analysis and donor engagement. This position will develop and implement solicitation and stewardship strategies to solicit annual gifts in the range of $500 to $5,000 from alumni, parents, and friends of UNE, as well as strategize which donors should be moved to a Major Gift portfolio. Solicitation and stewardship strategies will include phone calls, personal visits, paper and electronic correspondence, and events with the goal of increasing the number of donors making leadership level annual fund gifts as well as total dollars raised.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a dynamic portfolio of 300 prospects by developing and implementing strategies to acquire, renew, and upgrade mid-level prospects and donors
  • Complete substantial contacts annually that lead to solicitations of in a range of $500 to $5,000 or more.
  • Document donor and prospect moves in Raiser’s Edge for monthly, quarterly, and annual evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Annual Giving and Director of Alumni Engagement to include Reunion and other signature events in solicitation strategies.
  • Collaborate and coordinate stewardship initiatives with the Director of Donor Relations.
  • Perform other related duties in support of the Institutional Advancement office as assigned.
  • Some evenings and weekend work, as well as some local travel.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required with a proven track record of three years in development or a related field or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising and the ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle, program and volunteer management, and fundraising experience in a higher education environment is preferred. In addition, the successful candidate will also have the following skills:
  • Ability to articulate the case for support of the University’s vision, mission, and goals with sufficient effectiveness to secure gifts at assigned donor giving levels.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, listening skills and judgment to build rapport with potential alumni and parent donors, as well as UNE administration, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize data to create a strategic action plan.
  • Must be an energetic self-starter and strategic thinker; display initiative and imagination for innovation; well organized and an effective manager of time.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team within a complex organization to accomplish ambitious goals and established benchmarks.
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and database management.
