Opportunity Overview

Edward Jones is seeking an expert in mobile security to lead our technology transformation efforts and augment the maturity of our mobile security strategy. This individual will be responsible for setting the enterprise-level technical direction in alignment with our strategic roadmap in Mobility Security.

What You'll Do:

The Technical Architect will join a team of security generalists in IT Security with different areas of expertise responsible for working across all areas of Technology. The successful candidate will provide leadership on mobile technology security infrastructure and application security processes in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Provide mobile-specific security guidance and direction on mobile projects
  • Prioritize mobile vulnerabilities based on risk to the security of the application and business
  • Create and manage relationships with teams across the organization to ensure that application services are properly instrumented to be reliably monitored and debugged
  • Collaborate with project teams to deploy new solutions for proof-of-concept efforts, testing source code, and managing the implementation of advanced security features
  • Provide general security guidance to engineering/development teams in areas such as secure network design, database access, security testing, authentication methods, implementing encryption, entitlement design, logging, input validation, secure storage design, secure data transfer
  • Keep current on all mobile threats across common mobile platforms

Position Requirements

What Experience You'll Need:
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in cybersecurity as a practitioner
  • Must be experienced in creating a strategic cyber security technology direction, aligning it with tactical activities, and communicating plans broadly across the organization
  • Expertise with security-related topics such as threat modeling, authentication, entitlements, identity management, data protection, data leakage prevention, validation checking, encryption, hashing, principle of least privilege, software attack methodologies, secure data transfer, secure data storage etc.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively across multiple audiences, including firm-wide business units, senior leaders, associates, external vendors
  • Working knowledge in network, storage, application development, Operating Systems, IAM (authentication/authorization), PAM, SSO, encryption standards, and contract negotiations
  • Familiarity with security testing tools like network inspection, asset detection, SAST and DAST
What Could Set You Apart:
  • Technology background in the financial sector
  • Experience liaising with external vendors
  • Experience in conducting penetration tests, dynamic vulnerability assessments and static vulnerability assessments
  • Experience and understanding of applicable mobile security standards and guidelines from organizations such as NIST and OWASP
  • Experience and understanding of various regulatory requirements and laws, including but not limited to: Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Financial Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Additionally, experience in one or more of the following: NYDFS, CCPA, ISO 27001/2, ITIL and Agile is preferred
