The 7C/11K Monitor Technician (MT)/HUC is part of the health care team, providing support as the telemetry technician and Health Unit Coordinator.
The MT assists nursing staff through constant observation of the telemetry monitoring system.
The MT constantly observes hospital-wide telemetry, including rhythm and rate identification, documentation and immediate notification to nursing staff of any changes in the patient’s telemetry pattern.
On 7C/11K, the MTs are cross-trained and serve as HUCs, where they provide unit clerical support, unit communication, and other miscellaneous activities including those outlined in the HUC position description.
HS diploma or equivalent
ECG monitoring experience and/or previous ECG interpretation course
At least 75% pass rate on OHSU rhythm interpretation exam in order to be considered
Preferred:
- 1 year of experience as a telemetry technician in an acute care facility
- Telemetry certification
- EMT Certification
