Candidate must live close to Dunedin, FL. This position will be required to work in our Dunedin, FL office. Hybrid after training.
Purpose/Duties
The Real Estate Lending Sales Manager is a producing sales manager who is also responsible for mortgage loan production. They direct and manage the sales activities of inside and outside Residential Mortgage Loan Officers, ensuring profitability, market share growth, and a high level of customer service. The manager will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and managing a team of new and existing Mortgage Loan Officers, as well as growing and maintaining Realtor and Builder relationships to increase loan production. The manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and quantity of loan applications processed are in accordance with established regulations, Credit Union policies, State and Federal guidelines and secondary market guidelines as well as ensuring a consultative approach to effectively onboard new applications. The Manager will be responsible for leading the strategy, process, and management of all real estate sales, including providing real estate financing programs, alternatives, and solutions to VP of Real Estate Lending. This position may require work in the evenings and weekends.
Key Result Areas/ Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures MLO team lives the Achieva Brand Frame with every internal/external interaction, demonstrating the Brand Frame elements: Find a Way, Make it Easy, VIP, Learn, and Trust
- Manage and direct daily activities of the Sales team to ensure timelines, department goals and customer expectations are met. Set performance goals for team to meet/exceed. Track and measure performance goals for the Sales team.
- Shares extensive knowledge of Real Estate Lending programs and products, ensuring MLOs, RE Lending team, and Branch/Member Service Center Teams are all comfortable with making referrals. This may include partnering with the Training Department, securing outside resources, and/or developing tools, training content, for the various teams.
- Recruit, train, coach/mentor, and manage designated MLOs towards accomplishing personal and corporate level production, loan growth, and quality goals.
- Manages MLO regional assignments, based on skill level and opportunity.
- Partner with various business unit leaders to establish bi-directional referral goals to ensure members are fully serviced.
- Driving new application flow to maintain a robust loan pipeline.
- Coordinate and supervise team assignments. Secures qualified candidates, trains, evaluates team based on goals. Ensure team is knowledgeable of required compliance regulations, and they are applied to day-to day-activities. Coordinate regular team meetings. Lead and navigate sales meetings with Mortgage Loan Originators.
- Evaluating calls between members and Loan Originators to ensure that Loan Originators are providing legendary service by understanding the needs of our members through a consultative approach.
- Research problems and answers questions regarding interest rates, application intake, and current lending guidelines.
- Reviewing applications and calling members when necessary to remove obstacles and prevent escalations.
- Serving as the contact on applicant escalations.
- Collects the voice of the member by calling members and reviewing Net Promoter surveys throughout the mortgage process to provide a Brand Frame VIP experience.
- Producing and analyzing reports on key departmental metrics and leveraging the reports to support decisions.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for Corporate and Department Level Projects.
- Attend Networking/Chamber events, identify referral sources (COI's) within market; prepare tracking system for follow up calls and reporting
- Auditing incoming files to processing periodically for consistency and accuracy to ensure procedures are being followed and that all legally-required paperwork is being completed and is in adherence with deadlines, laws and regulations.
- Preparing responses to audits or examination findings, and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage vendor relationships as designated by VP Real Estate Lending.
- Provide recommendations to VP of Lending for preparation of annual budget, monitor expenditures, analyzing variances, recommending corrective action to ensure Sales area is meeting financial expectations.
- Individually produces annual mortgage volume of $12 million
- Perform as back up for Loan Origination staff in their absence. Manages incoming leads by phone, email, online applications.
- Establishes and maintains open communication with Operations.
- Responsible for upholding all credit union ethical standards.
- Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
- Perform other essential job functions as required or assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Associates degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification/License: National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mortgage Lending and sales, of which at least 2 years were as a manager or director of real estate sales or similar type position.
- Experience supervising or managing employees.
- Proficiency with mortgage origination Systems
- Familiarity with GSE guidelines, Construction to perm, portfolio lending.
- Strong working knowledge of regulations and guidelines governing mortgage lending, inclusive of Fannie/Freddie Mac, FHA/VA and private mortgage insurers as well as state and federal laws.
