Job Summary

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to act as a recognized technical expert in base labor category description. Functions as an individual contributor in at least one of the six Army Warfighting Functions (WfF). Utilizes expertise and experience in staff training best practices, industry requirements and information technology disciplines to develop technical and training solutions in support of Army mission command training. Has a high level of diverse technical and industry experience related to a specific skill set. Typically has specialization in a particular technology or WfF. Keeps abreast of doctrinal, operational and tactical training methodology as well as technological developments and trends.

The III Corps and JBSA Mission Training Complexes (MTCs) provide high-quality simulation-driven training tools for training unit commanders to conduct individual, leader, and collective mission command training.

Specific Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and executes unit collective training at echelons ranging from Battalion to Corps.
• Assists unit leadership in planning collective training that will meet their training objectives; identifies any gaps (resource, training, equipment, etc.) and works with the management team to ensure they are filled prior to execution of training.
• Serves in a mentorship or observer/trainer role when requested.
• Gathers observations based on unit actions during the training event and provides input to unit After Action Reviews (AARs). Maintains a comprehensive repository of relevant TTPs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ related experience in instructional development; advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in technology-based training as well as the use and application of off-the-shelf tools and associated equipment and systems; qualified to operate at least two Army MCIS.
• 8+ years’ experience with Military training and training support.

Desired Skills/Qualifications

• SME Level – Army CGSC, Intermediate Level Education (ILE), or the Army Warrant Officer Advanced Course, or the Army Battle Staff Course, or served as a Digital Master Gunner with ASI 5C identifier or served as an Operations Sergeant Major or Operations Sergeant in a Battalion, Brigade, Division or Corps command post.
• Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook skills.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Normal Office environment

Travel

• Up to 15-35% both CONUS and OCONUS, as required to support mission requirements.
