The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Multi-Skilled Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Laying out, facilitating, planning, and documenting the installation, maintenance, repair, replacement, modification, troubleshooting, diagnosing, programming, optimization and design of existing and new manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment components and pumps.
  • Installing/upgrading, and calibrating equipment.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
  • Completing shop records and use reporting systems following established procedures
  • Using safe working methods and procedures at all times to avoid injury, injury to self and co-workers or damage to company property.
  • Reporting to and performing other tasks established by the Plant Engineering Supervisor.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Currently possess or in the last six (6) months of obtaining a two (2) year technical degree/diploma in a maintenance field
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting/programming.
  • This position will require weekend work, overtime, holidays as needed, and short notice shift coverage

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Strong multi-skill aptitude in a manufacturing environment.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems, and/or Calibrations/metrology.
  • Experience working with mechanical systems: bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and pneumatic/hydraulic
  • Experience working with the following electrical diagrams: PLC logic, process flow diagrams, instrument flow diagrams and/or P&ID drawings
  • Experience working with electrical tools, test equipment and instruments used in industrial plant applications
