Music Coordinator/Organist
Our Lady of Hope Parish – Harwinton/New Hartford, CT
Our Lady of Hope Parish is seeking a part-time Music Coordinator/Organist, who will oversee all Sacred Music, and will include providing organ accompaniment and work with the cantors at each of the two weekend Masses.
Other important aspects of the position are overseeing and coordinating with the directors of the different choirs, contracting musicians and selecting music for Sacred Holiday Masses and Holy Days of Obligation.
Additional responsibilities will include establishing, rehearsing, and conducting a parish choir; arranging music for funerals and weddings in coordination with the requests of the family; working to produce worship aids for special events; and, maintaining and organizing service for all parish instruments and sound systems.
Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of a four-year college degree in music, or three or more years of experience playing sacred music.
Candidates must possess an understanding, commitment, and love for the mission of the Roman Catholic Church and her teachings, particularly in the areas of faith and morals.
