Terrific Network Pre-K Director position with a highly regarded charter school network in Chicago. This is a new position that will be integral in the assessment, improvement, management, and expansion of the network's early childhood education program. The network is looking to develop a best-in-class Pre-K program that can be replicated and expanded to additional sites. The Director will be responsible for evaluating the existing program and providing and implementing recommendations for improvement and optimization. Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of early childhood education, including program evaluation, expansion, compliance, technical requirements required for public funding, and Pre-K assessment reporting. Candidates should have approximately 5+ years of related experience, including time in a supervisory role. Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree is preferred. This position is based in Chicago and will require travel to program sites in the area.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the existing Pre-K program and identify areas for improvement
- Establish a best-in-class Pre-K program that can be expanded to multiple schools
- Instructional leadership, including the design and implementation of all early education programming and instruction
- Oversee, coach, and develop a team of early childhood education professionals
- Ensure that the Pre-K program remains compliant with local, state, and federal regulations and funders
- Lead program expansion internally and externally; serve as the front-facing representative of the network's Pre-K program
- Leverage data to inform and enhance programs
- Build strong relationships with students and their families
- Collaborate with Chief Development Officer on expansion funding
- Oversee the implementation of best practices that meet licensing requirements
- Lead grant funding activities as needed, including application and reporting
Qualifications:
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant early childhood education experience, 3 to 5+ years in a supervisory role
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree is a plus
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset to expand the school's existing Pre-K program
- Experience in the operation of an early childhood education center; multiple sites strongly preferred
- Successful track record of initiating growth in early childhood programming
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Strong understanding of state and local compliance and technical requirements for early childhood education
- Ability to translate data and reports into actions that provide program improvement
