Job Description:

The purpose of the Department of Defense (DoD) Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) is to provide age and gender-specific, evidence-based preventive health information and recommendations. This assessment consists of three sections: Self-assessment, Record Review, and HCP interview. The PHA provider will review the self-assessment, records review and MHA summary for each Service member and document their findings in the assessment.

As a health care provider you are responsible for determining whether there are any issues that could potentially hinder a Service member from being medically ready for deployment. While conducting this interview it is important to remember that your role is not to treat or diagnose the Service member, but rather to provide an assessment of their physical health.

There is no hands-on patient care, no diagnosing, no treating, no prescribing, and no follow up of any sorts. Would be referring to their Primary Care Provider (PCP) if necessary. (Training will be provided prior to the event via online Portal)
