Venteon is currently looking for an experienced NPI Value Engineer to fill an opening with large manufacturing company in Newington, NH. The ideal candidate should be able to show a demonstrated history of hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.

Requirements of the NPI Value Engineer

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience sourcing machined metal parts for high-volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge/Working knowledge of Value Analysis/Value Engineering principles and methodologies
  • Demonstrated track record of significant YOY cost reduction
  • Ability to successfully identify high quality lower cost alternate suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to read & interpret Mechanical drawings
  • Familiar with CNC Machining and Milling operations of Plastics and Metals
  • Familiarity with material procurement in a lean manufacturing environment including Kanban pull inventory systems, material flow, leveraging volume spend, inventory turns, visual management, and continuous improvement tools
  • Background in building strategic relationships with suppliers and internal customers and stakeholders

Responsibilities of the NPI Value Engineer

  • Proactively developing & prioritizing a pipeline of productivity project ideas and engaging multiple business lines to drive participation and support of those projects to successful completion.
  • Provide technical support to cross functional Design, Quality and Engineering Teams on New Product Introductions and Supplier Improvement Initiatives.
  • Proposing and evaluating Insourcing/Outsourcing opportunities as well as supporting low-cost country initiatives within specified category.
  • Total Cost Out – YOY reductions in total cost paid.
  • Assess existing suppliers and develop new supplier relationships.
  • Meet with suppliers to determine production capacity, potential new product development, and on-time delivery and quality (including onsite visits). Negotiate pricing and lead time with existing and new suppliers.
  • Development of various cost control mechanisms/initiatives and successful deployment throughout the supply chain.
  • Supporting the development of business case financial models for new projects or changes to vendors/suppliers.
  • Investigate and lead opportunities to reduce product costs, inventory, and improve the supplier base and/or improve specific processes.
  • Negotiate cost reduction opportunities available by employing techniques of price/cost analysis, negotiations, strategic sourcing and value engineering vs. buy.
