NURSE PRACTITIONER

SITE OF SERVICE:

• Naval Branch Health Clinic Groton, CT, Assigned to the Primary Care Clinic Department.
• Full Time

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree: Master's degree in nursing
• Education: Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Certification:
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).
  • HCW will obtain and maintain Radiation Health Indoctrination Certification and will assist with the performance of radiation health and special duty physicals.
• Additional Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience: Have a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an ambulatory setting within the preceding two (2) years.
• Licensure: Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Island.
• U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen

• English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
• Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

HOURS:

• Services shall normally be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600-1830.
• At the government’s request, may be scheduled for a Saturday shift between the hours of 0700-1700.
• Will not be scheduled for more than two (2) Saturday shifts per month.
• All shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5 to 9 hour period, to include an uncompensated 30 to 60 minute meal break, respectively.
• In no instance will services be provided in excess of 80 hours per two-week period.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
