The Homeless Healthcare Collaborative NPfunctions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriateStandardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to changetreatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions totreatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they areabnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section2725). The NP will provide andcoordinate the care of patients experiencing homelessness, providepatient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care in collaborationwith the interdisciplinary care team. The NP also provides education andsupport, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents servicesrendered. The NP will also supervise pre-licensure and APRN nursing students,medical students, and public health students. The NP will share theresponsibility of driving the mobile unit. ***This is one APP position that will be filled as either a NP or PA***

Qualifications

Required: * CA RN license, California NP license, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Certification -required * MSN in FNP specialty- required * National Board certification as a FNP - required * Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate -required * Valid CA driver’s license -required .This position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record. * A minimum of 1 year experience as a NP -required Previous nursing experience either in RN and/or NP role including but not limited to ambulatory care/clinics, emergency department or urgent care settings-required * Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs- required * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel -required * Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction -required * Ability to set priorities-required * Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence- required * Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner -required Preferred: * Bilingual Spanish-English proficiency- preferred * Experience working in a low-resource and/or community setting-preferred
