Position Overview:

As a member of Retriever Integrated Health Services within the Division of Student Affairs, the Office Clerk II will contribute to the mission by being the first contact for students, faculty and staff entering or calling Retriever Integrated Health. The incumbent will be responsible for office procedures and operations and function independently within established procedures with the ability to multitask.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available.



Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Processing a variety of routine transactions, including scheduling for practitioners and medical chart retrieval
  • Coordinating the work of the front desk unit with the other medical offices and representing the unit to higher level administrative personnel
  • Handling confidential medical information while leading other staff on confidentiality issues
  • Making procedural operating decisions based on independent judgment and knowledge of applicable departmental policies and procedures
  • Opening and date stamping all mail (other than that marked confidential) for RIH and each individual RIH employee
  • Maintaining office equipment located in the front desk area in addition to the copier and fax
  • Coordinating the scheduling of large groups of patients for appointments (e.g. ELI students for PPDs, athletic students for flu vaccines, etc.)
  • Processing medical/counseling records requests
  • Dispensing pharmacy deliveries
  • Serving on various in-house committees
  • Participate in outreach events when needed

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years in clerical work

Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Medical Terminology experience
  • Electronic Health Records System experience
