SAFEbuilt is currently looking for an Office Manager. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Permit Technician team, billing, and maintaining a very high level of customer service.

Job Requirements:
The Building Department Services Office Manager is responsible for managing all financial billing, customer service/satisfaction, employee training, maximization of asset utilization, and achieving overall company goals in a given market of the region. Specific management duties include:
  • Performs professional and administrative duties; plans, organizes and directs a professional, technical, skilled and semi-skilled staff in the implementation of projects and the administration of community development activities.
  • Ensure that our team meets or exceeds its goals as it pertains to regulatory compliance, budget, account retention and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for taking strategic goals and implementing them to measurable outcomes
  • Works directly with the Chief Building Official to oversee the recruiting, hiring, and training needs
  • Provides daily leadership to employees within the operation and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and resource/staffing allocation of the Permit Tech staff.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues
  • Ensures that SAFEbuilt is well promoted and properly represented through marketing and community relations within the region
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in industry and operations management; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Three years progressive experience in management
  • Background in Community Development or Building/Construction fields preferred
  • Proficiency in basic and advanced computer systems and applications required.
  • BS&A permitting system knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent initiative, make sound decisions using effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Effective ability to develop interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to develop and present comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both written and verbal) in a professional manner.
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver’s license
