Fibres of Life is a Boulder based business creating fair trade products with artisans in Nepal. We sell a contemporary line of products made of felted wool and ethically produced leather which is no-kill and naturally tanned. Our passion is our growing line of Zero Waste and Eco-Home/Eco-Pet items, alongside our ‘Carry’ line of handbags/backpacks, our ‘Organize’ line of sleeves and organizer pouches, ‘Kitchen and Home’, and a niche line of felt and sustainable yarn products for makers.
We sell primarily to stores across North America through an exciting roster of trade shows in Chicago, Las Vegas, Toronto and Vancouver, alongside a series of seasonal specialty retail events in the US, and our local farmers market, which we love.
We are 17 years old, and still intentionally small, however, our business is in a very fun and creative expansive phase. While this is exciting, we only seek enough growth for the economic stability and well-being of both our staff and the artisans we partner with in Nepal. New opportunities include an expanded product line, re-tooling our online presence including opening our Shopify store and expanding our social media, participating in new shows and niche markets, and systematizing our back-end operations.
We are seeking an individual who would love to work in a social entrepreneur model with a love of creating operational flow, working with and supporting customers, and helping to oversee the handling of our hand made products from their arrival from Nepal, through to our customers’ hands.
The immediate role involves the following. Also, as we are a very compact company, there is excellent potential for career growth.
Product Management
- Assisting with inventory management - receiving shipments from Nepal, basic quality checking, and organizing in our inventory room. If you desire to be the Maria Kondo of a stock space, you sing our song! And if you like a bit of a workout while working, even better.......

- We print on some of our felt items - Assistance with our hand printing process please!

- Assisting to set up our new studio space in 2023 - this promises to be a very fun project
Customer Engagement
We have really kind customers, so we will say they are great to work with.
- Day-to-day help assisting customers with their basic needs re: product ordering.
- On-site work at our trade shows across North America - about 5-7 per year - this includes helping to build and merchandise our pop-up space, sales and administering of orders on site, and basic show logistics.
- Optional role to work independently at our Saturday Louisville Farmers market booth - this is not required but ideal
