What is the opportunity?

As a Team Lead in the Account Transfer department, you will provide daily work direction, training, and oversight to the ACAT Associates. You’ll also provide enhanced customer service, solve complex problems, and outline process improvements within the department. The Account Transfer department acts as the liaison between the RBC Wealth Management branches or correspondents and the Contra-firms for all full and partial account transfers. The Team Lead will have an ability to successfully lead and mentor others and influence the overall success of the department. In addition, this role will serve as backup to other daily tasks.

What will you do?

  • Provide training and work direction to staff members, while training employees on risk management. You will also be able to offer recommendations or enhancements for department procedures or processes.
  • Verify, input and/or maintain information/data into computer files, databases or systems or in record retention systems. Work may include statistical reports to department management.
  • Research, respond and follow-up to more complex questions from the associates, other Operations departments, branch offices and from management staff.
  • Serve as back up to others (claims, reversals and New FA) and assist with the processing of transfer form in order to meet SLA/Deadline.
  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new systems and processes.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • High school diploma or equivalent with three years of job related experience in business, finance, customer service and/or accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, train and provide work direction to others.
  • Effective problem identification, analytical, and resolution skills along with proficient computer skills in Windows-based software products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, strong customer service skills, organizational skills, and superb attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.

Nice-to-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field.
  • Previous experience in the securities or banking industry.
  • Experience with brokerage systems.
