The Packaging Coordinator assists in developing, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving new and existing packaging programs. This is a hybrid position which will work in the office 2 - 3 days/week.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing internal and external packaging, considering both the customer's and UGN's needs regarding packaging systems.
• Complete and submit documentation as required by the customer. Maintain current information within the Packaging database.
• Create and issue internal packaging layouts and container shortage procedures.
• Maintain solid and professional relationship with customers, suppliers, and internal packaging contacts.
• Assist in developing and implementing returnable packaging maintenance programs with customers, suppliers and plant operation managers.
• Obtain cost information on packaging items and forward this information to Costing Coordinators and Account Managers.
• Analyze and resolve day-to-day packaging issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of new packaging materials, suppliers and techniques.
• Travel when necessary to discuss packaging related issues with customers and/or suppliers.
• Recommend measures to continuously improve process for said position and affected departments.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred
• Zero to Two years of related packaging, logistics or manufacturing industry experience preferred
• Spanish language skills are a plus
• Automotive industry experience a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications-Word, Excel, Access, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Strong project management skills and multi-tasking skills.

• Need excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.

• Candidates should be organized, detailed, and have good time management skills.
• Some travel to our plants is required (25% approximately).
