Part Time Activity Supervisor-Climbing Wall Belayer Job at City of Elgin, IL
CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Customer Service Manager. Ensures the safety of all wall climbers and assist in teaching classes and working parties/rental/special events
GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
- Ensure safety of all wall climbers.
- Assist in teaching classes and working parties/rental/special events
- Ability to demonstrate wall climbing and belaying skills.
- Maintenance and inspection of all climbing wall equipment.
- Know and practice emergency procedures.
- Enforce all climbing wall protocol
- Keep accurate records/reports and complete all written records as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of all areas of use in and around The Centre and care properly for all equipment and supplies.
- Assist in promoting and marketing climbing wall programs and events.
- Wear appropriate staff uniform.
- Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Keep yourself informed of all wall activities, programs and classes.
- Abide by all City of Elgin rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Manual.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Minimum 17 years of age.
- Ability to enforce all rules and regulations in a professional manner.
- Ability to work pleasantly with youth, members and fellow employees.
- CPR/First Aid certified within 3 months of employment.
- Candidates will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to hire and must receive any CDC recommended COVID-19 vaccine booster shots as needed. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hours: Weekend availability required/Weekdays AM/PM, as needed – approximately 8-10 hrs/week
