Position Overview

Reporting to the Donations Operations Supervisor, the Donations Pickup Driver is responsible for the pick-up of merchandise from donors, safely packing the merchandise in the ReStore truck/trailer, and returning to ReStore and unpacking merchandise. The Donations Pickup Driver will also work in the ReStore when needed to assist with pricing, stocking, cleaning, and maintenance.

The responsibilities of the Donations Pickup Driver include, but are not limited to:

  • Pick-up donated materials at contractor, commercial or residential locations;
  • Drive and operate a 16 ft. - 26 ft. box truck safely;
  • Screen donations to determine usability for ReStore;
  • Load and pack materials to minimize damage;
  • Document correspondence with donors;
  • Complete all paperwork and accurately record donated items information;
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety standards, of Habitat Wake; and
  • Assist with merchandising, stocking, cleaning, and maintaining the ReStore sales floor

You will be successful in the Donations Pickup Driver role if you:

  • Have minimum of 1 year driving experience and an excellent driving record;
  • Can drive and operate a 26ft box truck safely and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. continuously;
  • Have a history of providing excellent customer service;
  • Have Great energy and persistence with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Thrive on organization, accuracy, and efficiency; and
  • Can work a Monday – Saturday Schedule
