Patient Care Tech - Clinic Job at Pella Regional Health Center
JOB SUMMARY:
This position serves to primarily assist clinic healthcare providers with patient examinations, phone calls, treatments and procedures as they may be performed within a clinic setting under the direction of the provider; within the scope of the professional license. This position maintains responsibility for patient medical histories, collection and preparation of specimens as required.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
v High school graduate or GED.
v Completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant program OR be listed as having passed CNA competency testing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker registry. May be certified as a medic or Combat Lifesaver (through military duty), have EMS certification or phlebotomy certification as a base provider.
v Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
v Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
v High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others.
v Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills required.
v Must work effectively as a member of a team.
v Previous phlebotomy or lab drawing experience preferred.
v Technical and critical thinking skills required to perform duties.
v Basic computer knowledge.
