Description

University Physicians Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Patient Service Representative (PSR) for a busy surgical office located within the University of Tennessee Medical Center. This person will assist with office phones and general clerical duties.

Schedule
Office Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm ( No weekends or holidays)

Patient Service Representative duties include, but are not limited to answering phones, filing and organizing patient documents, collecting payment information, checking phone messages, checking mail and directing it to appropriate people, manage printer, scan documents into patient charts, sending mail, and coordinating patient flow.

Professional Interpersonal & Communication Skills
  • Creates and sustains therapeutic & ethical relationships with patients & health care team recognizing aspects of culture, age, gender, and disability
  • Exhibits nonverbal, listening, explanatory, questions, and writing skills
  • Provides appropriate and concise written and verbal communication to allow for continuity of care
  • Maintains patient satisfaction and responds promptly to patient care needs
  • Follows ethical principles regarding withholding clinical care, patient confidentiality, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomes
  • Demonstrates accountability, commitment, sensitivity, and responsiveness to patients, staff, and in general business practices
Administrative Responsibilities/Billing
  • Phones are automatically rolled to call provider on-call at out of office times
  • Answer incoming calls within two (2) rings
  • Fax patient medical records requested, as needed
  • Properly triage phone messages and send messages throughout PowerChart
  • All messages, calls, and voicemail are expected to be returned the same day received
  • Place all information from the fax/printer in correct folder
