JOB TITLE: Payroll Clerk
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Human Resources
FACILITY LOCATION: Woodbury, NY
REPORTS TO: Payroll Supervisor
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Payroll Clerk will contribute to the success of the organization by acting as liaison between Payroll and individuals at all levels of the organization, providing a wide variety of administrative duties as they pertain to employee payroll functions, as well as providing excellent customer service to everyone with whom she/he works and communicates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Shared responsibilty for the payroll of 1500+ employees for weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly pay cycles
- Entering new hires, employee changes, and voluntary deductions into the payroll system
- Processing of manual checks such as terminations and discrepancies
- Prepare and process garnishments
- Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating terminations, leaves, and overtime
- Processing stop payments or adjustments of payroll
- Ensure that computing, withholding, and deductions are done correctly
- Continuous updates on laws and regulations pertinent to payroll
- Collecting data and payroll information
- Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
- Preparing and Distributing Payroll statements to Accounting
- Reconciliation of payrolls
- Periodic internal audits of processes and lawful, accurate pay practices
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Other duties may be assigned, as needed, or required.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
- Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
- Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees
- Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Proficient in ADP Workforce, ADP Time and Attendance, Excel, Microsoft, and Outlook with the ability to write reports and analyze data
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws
- Solid financial acumen
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strict confidentiality is a must
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Teamwork and customer service skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Full time in office 5 days a week.
