Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Group is seeking qualified professionals to consider for their Maintenance Performance Leader opportunity to support the Tissue Paper Machine maintenance department at our Paper Mill in Palatka, FL. This is a key leadership role that will provide direction to maintenance personnel. Through leadership, clear expectations will be set and crews and individual team members will be held accountable for results in their perspective roles including: environmental, health & safety (EHS), compliance, quality, and reliability. This role will report to the Facility Maintenance Leader.
Our Team
Georgia Pacific's Palatka Mill is located just south of Jacksonville and west of St. Augustine, FL, the Palatka mill employs about 950 people has six paper machines as well as several converting lines and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Angel Soft®, Quilted Northern®, Brawny®, and Sparkle®.
What You Will Do
- Lead and mentor employees to apply PBM® in ways that are consistent with our Values. Lead the organization toward excellence in safety, environmental, health, and compliance by identifying and resolving hazards with critical and high risks (risk management).
- Lead, mentor, coach and hold direct reports accountable for maintenance department results that are impacted by people performance and capability. This includes and mechanical work process/reliability strategies, daily and outage work execution, and planning.
- Ensure the annual performance development process is successfully carried out for employees in the department: individual roles, responsibilities, and expectations (RRE’s) are aligned with mill and department goals and ongoing meaningful coaching is provided.
- Manage the environmental, health and safety risk associated with site maintenance activity. Staff and develop the capability of the maintenance organization in alignment with the corporate culture of Principle Based Management. Support mill as a knowledgeable resource for mechanical systems.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Five (5) or more years of mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
- Leadership experience with responsibility for direct reports within a manufacturing or military environment
- Experience using Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with reliability concepts and implementing precision maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
- Experience with systems such as SAP or other CMMS's
- Experience with maintenance workflow systems
- Experience using preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Experience in Capital Budgeting; capital project management; as well as the experience with budgeting for the maintenance department
- Experience as a leader of maintenance or process engineering
