GENERAL SUMMARY:
The delivery driver is responsible for delivery of prescription medications, as well as other supplies deemed appropriate by the supervising pharmacist to patients in an efficient and responsible manner. The pharmacy delivery driver is responsible for operating any MVHC vehicle, in a safe, professional manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current and valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Ability to understand and adhere to oral and written instructions
- Possess good writing, reading, and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol test as required
- Pass an MVR background check
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Standing for short periods of time.
- Walking approx. 15 minutes per hour throughout the day.
- Sitting in a vehicle for the majority of the workday.
- Ability to navigate various terrains in order to deliver medications to a patient’s home.
- Withstanding pressure and deals with emergency situations as needed.
- Average working hours with possible non-traditional hours.
- Potential for exposure to blood and bodily fluids rarely.
- Ability to deal with upset or disgruntle patients in order to deescalate the situation.
- Ability to reach, grasp, and hold various objects.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver prescription orders and/or supplies to patients’ homes and other facilities.
- Provide timely and accurate delivery of medication and products.
- Ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met.
- Operate MVHC vehicles in a safe and professional manner, following assigned routes, complying with local state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor and report operational condition of MVHC vehicles, including performing pre/ post trip inspection reports, reporting defects immediately, and completing accident/ incident reports when appropriate following the MVHC company vehicle use policy.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient information, according to policies and procedures.
- Maintain friendly and understanding interactions with patients and coworkers.
