Summary

The Pharmacy Program Coordinator assists with the recruitment process of pharmacy residents and pharmacy associates. Assists with maintaining policies and procedures for the Department of Pharmacy and documentations for the pharmacy residency program. Maintains and ensures the fiscal operations of the residency training program. Provides administrative support to Program leaders and residents. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Associate’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or other related field.
Two years of experience in administrative and/or program coordination.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or other related field.
One year experience in administrative and/or program coordination is strongly preferred.

SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED:
In lieu of an associate's degree, the candidate must have a High school diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in administrative and/or program coordination.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of and experience with pharmacy accreditation standards and pharmacy law preferred.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be creative and energetic.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at working with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to organize, schedule and prioritize while under pressure of working with several projects simultaneously and against deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups in person, through presentations and in writing. Must be diplomatic and enthusiastic advocate for MLH and Residency program.
  • Must have flexible schedule to be able to work some nights and weekends and occasionally travel in the region.
  • Ability to work independently and to exercise independent judgment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Department of Pharmacy.
  • Assists in activities for residents. Performs duties related to the application, testing, interviewing, and admission of prospective residents to the Program.
  • Responsible for the inventory and ordering of supplies, equipment and services needed to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
  • Demonstrates professionalism through positive image and the ability to be an effective team player.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
