Diplomacy's gone digital, and as a photo editor working with JAB Innovative Solutions, you’ll join a team of content professionals shaping foreign opinion on policy issues.

Requirements:

• Capable of performing research in multiple highly specialized electronic image databases, commercial stock photo houses, and the Associated Press news picture service.
• Demonstrate a capacity for identifying images that are aesthetically pleasing and culturally appropriate and which advance the public diplomacy objectives of IIP publications.
• For each publication, the junior photo editor must apply to the image search an understanding of the different intended audiences for each publication
• Evaluates and as necessary modifies photo caption information.
• Experience in FTP file transfers, both upload and download.
• Experience performing research in specialized electronic image databases, including by way of example but not limited to, Getty, National Geographic, Shutterstock, Instock, the Associated Press, and other photographic suppliers based on need, cost, and time.
• Experience negotiating intellectual property rights for images to be used in electronic and print publications, including, as necessary, on short deadlines.
• Knowledge of the cultural sensitivities that govern content in public diplomacy publications.
• Work independently to put out content on a short deadline.
• Excellent, timely and precise organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
• Excellent ability to also have a flexible, team-oriented approach to work.
• As the ‘flextime’ junior photo editor, work will often start with one photo editor and then be handed off to the ‘flextime’ photo editor to complete based on deadline. Ability to complete projects with limited guidance or context and background and to get up-to-speed quickly is required.
• Actively and on a daily basis interact with Basecamp, Slack, Google Apps, and any calendaring or production platforms adopted by the bureau.

Minimum Experience:

• Photo Editor Experience: 3 years (Required)
• Public Policy: 2 years (Required)

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Security Clearance:

• Active Secret Clearance (Preferred)
• JAB will initiate clearance for selected candidate

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
