Physical Therapist – 24 hours per week, Days
Shift: 8 am to 430 pm Mon, Wed, Friday

We are looking for a compassionate Physical Therapist to join The Villa, Sisters of St. Joseph in Flourtown, Pa.
This organization is a member of Trinity Health PACE and serves as a full-service retirement center for the Sisters of St Joseph. This 80 bed, multi-level care facility includes independent living, assisted living, a medical and dementia unit.
Hours for the position will be 3 days a week, 8 am to 430 pm. Working Monday, Wednesday and Friday are preferred. However, alternative schedule would be considered.
This position will have a start date of 6/12/2023.

What you will do:
· Conduct an in-person comprehensive physical therapy assessment on all participants upon enrollment and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive plan of care.
· Evaluate, direct, plan, and treat participants with a wide variety of disabilities to help them achieve maximum level of functional independence.
· Assist in ordering, inventory, distribution and maintenance of durable medical equipment for participants.
· Assess the need for adaptive Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
· Assist as liaison with nursing home and assisted living staff regarding physical therapy needs of participants who are their residents.
· Evaluate charts and reports on participants' progress, document physical therapy notes in the participants' medical record according to the charting requirements.
· Assist in recommending physical therapy policies and procedures concerning services provided and maintain quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control.
· Direct, supervise, perform initial and annual competencies, and assist department manager in evaluating the performance of the Physical Therapy Assistant.
· Train staff in body mechanics, use of equipment, transfers, gait patterns, and methods to maximize safety and functional abilities in performing Activity of Daily Living (ADL).
What you will need:
· Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
· Minimum one (1) year of working with a frail or elderly population as a physical therapist. If less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
· CPR certification and First-aid Certification may be required.
· Must be action-oriented, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility. Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
· Comprehensive to expert proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to change and be flexible with work priorities.
· Must exhibit critical thinking skills and possess the ability to prioritize workload.
· Position primarily works inside with frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 20 pounds if applicable.
· Position may require 10% travel within the Centers geographic region.
