Family Practice MD or DO

Indianhead Medical Center (IMC) is a 25-bed critical access facility that has been providing quality care to the surrounding communities for over 70 years. Services include inpatient, outpatient, clinical, surgical, rehabilitation with extensive inpatient and outpatient therapies, and emergency care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Family Practice Medical Doctor to join the IMC family.

As one of our physicians, you would practice in our clinic, hospital and emergency room at our Shell Lake, WI critical access facility, as well as see patients in our Siren, WI outreach clinic. Our physicians examine patients with a variety of chief complaints, in emergency situations, or as part of their preventative care strategy. Patient examinations may consist of diagnoses and treatment of injuries or illnesses, interpreting diagnostic tests or imaging, and prescription management. As a part of Hospital Medical Staff, the MD will take rotating call for the ER and hospital, will participate in our Medical Staff review meetings, and will collaborate with all staff to provide excellent patient care. The MD will primarily work clinic hours and take rotating call.

The Physician will also:

· Keep abreast of new developments and best practices in the medical field

· Utilize the EMR for ordering, documentation and record keeping of patient care

· Promotes open and effective communication amongst the hospital, with patients and other health professionals

· Be on call for hospital emergencies

The Physician at IMC must:

· Be a graduate of an accredited medical school having earned a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD)

· Be board certified in the United States

· Be licensed to fully practice in the State of WI (or currently pursuing WI licensure)

• Current Wisconsin DEA
• Have current certification in BLS, ACLS and ATLS; PALS and CALS preferred (or obtain within 6 months of hire)

· Maintain required licensure, registration and/or certification as well as continuing education as required

· Provide professional and compassionate patient care

· Have a strong work ethic with a dependable and trustworthy nature
