We have an opening for Plant Accountant to cover our Garland TX, and Fontana, CA plants. The position is based from our Garland, TX plant.

Basic Function:
The Plant Accountant reports to the Regional Controller and will be a key member of the Finance team and work in collaboration with the Garland Texas and Fontana California Manufacturing Operations teams. The Plant Accountant supports all aspects of Plant Financial Operations activities. This includes preparation of monthly journal entries with supporting documentation, balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of internal management reports, resolving issues with AP and many other daily activities. The candidate should have solid accounting knowledge, experience with general ledgers and accounts payable. Candidate must be a self-starter, adept at communicating with multiple levels of an organization, have the ability to build trust, influence, and work with teams cross functionally.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit Accounts payable workflows. Resolve open workflow issues for both plants
• Prepare Weekly Sales and Profit forecast supporting schedules
• Assist Plant Engineers with tracking Capital projects
• Assist with Preparation and Distribution of Daily, Weekly and Monthly KPI metrics
• Setup standard costs for new inventory items
• Assist with audit and review of Plant key controls and with Inventory cycle counts
• Post Month end Journal entries
• Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
• Other Accounting and Manufacturing analysis as assigned.
• Review/Analyze Production work orders for corrections or variance explanations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
• 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment with cost accounting responsibilities
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with SAP is a plus!
• Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
• The successful candidate must be a team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
