GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Cookie Product Manager, this position will lead all phases of Cookie production on the PM 1 shift. The PM Cookie Lead will be responsible for leadership, team development (utilizing the Campbell Leadership Model) and in achieving results for: safety performance, schedule attainment, conformance to specifications, direct labor, process yield, and meeting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments. Also ensures that all food safety and quality requirements are met, including site standards, company policies and regulations. In addition, the PM Cookie Lead is responsible for identifying and leading project driven improvement teams utilizing continuous improvement tools - Focused Improvement, Kaizen, Six Sigma and A3/RCA as they relate to Cookie production improvements. This position may be required to rotate shifts if needed to fill vacancies, further personal development and/or develop teams. Must be available to work weekends.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
25% of the Cookie Lead’s time will be spent leading activities to improve the Safety, Reliability, Cost, and Quality of the Cookie production lines. These improvements will come from leadership and participation of continuous improvement and lean projects.
25% of the Cookie Lead’s time will be spent demonstrating leadership consistent with the Campbell Leadership Model and behaviors by promoting participative, open communication with team members and maintaining positive employment relations on the shift through fair, consistent interpretation, coaching feedback, and enforcement of company policies and procedures, as well as prompt resolution of associated issues. Will be responsible for conducting goal setting objectives and annual performance reviews of team.
20% of the Cookie Lead’s time will be spent taking necessary action to meet schedule attainment, direct labor, and process yield budgetary commitments. This includes, but is not limited to, Operational Rounds, leading Daily Direction Setting meetings and improving Standard Work Processes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required. Bachelor’s degree, is preferred
HS Diploma or Equivalent is required
B.A./B.S. in Business, Food Science or related field is preferred.
1 to 3 years previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Knowledge and experience with various disciplines of continuous improvement including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, etc. is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are required.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping software, SAP software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint processing software.
Mathematical Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. They should also have the ability to apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
