Facility- Constable

Responsibility in this position, you will monitor surveillance cameras and act as a security officer/ first responder in cases of emergencies. You may be called upon to deploy varying levels of intervention to ensure the safety of the facility, all staff, visitors, and participants.

GENERAL INFORMATION: The Constable reports to the Director of Facilities Maintenance with compensation starting at $25.00 per hour and is a pay grade 15 position. The work week is 37.50 hours, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Benefits include:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position is responsible for the overall safety of the facility, staff, visitors, and participants. You will be required to conduct armed patrol of the facility inside and or outside the building. You will monitor state of the art surveillance systems, and grounds via foot or vehicle. Must have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well under pressure, be able to remain calm and empathetic in stressful situations. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand, sit, bend, kneel, run, and walk for periods up to 4 hours before breaks. Must be able to perform CPR/AED, First Aid, and MANDT techniques as needed after certification. All training is provided in-house.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 21 years of age, have a High School Diploma. Requirements include Law Enforcement experience within the last 5 years or prior employment as a Constable. Must meet the minimum training and experience standards establishes by the Board of Examiners of Constables. Have a valid Delaware license with no more than two moving violations on record at time of hire. Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check, Adult and Child Abuse Registry check, Sex Offender listing check and drug screening.
