Polysomn Technologist Trainee Job at Lehigh Valley Health Network
Job Summary: A Polysomnographic Technician Trainee is Polysomnographic Technician who is performing the job duties of a polysomnographic technician during the first 12 months in the position. The trainee performs quality, comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis, and associated interventions for treatment under the general supervision of the Night Shift Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, Medical Director (MD, PhD, DO) and/or designee. Reports To: Clinical Coordinator, Sleep Disorders Center.
Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of one year of experience in a closely-related field of health care OR completion of a minimum of one year college level math and science education.
Physical ability to perform job responsibilities, including standing, walking, sitting, occasionally stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. May be required to work with chemical agents which emit vapors in the work environment. Flexibility to work night, evening, and day shifts.
Preferred Qualifications: Successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility is desired but not required.
Knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age-specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Licensure and Certifications: Current BLS Health Care Provider.
Active member of a specialty related professional organization (American Academy of Wound Management
