The Lycée Français de San Francisco is currently seeking highly motivated and experienced applicants for a Pre-K French-Speaking Teacher to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 2-3-year-old children in a French immersion classroom setting. The candidate should be fluent in French and able to create a positive and engaging learning environment for young children.
The Lycée Français de San Francisco is a French Immersion College Preparatory School in the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide a challenging educational environment based on the French national curriculum, enriched by English classes from PS-12th grade. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-structured, well-assimilated body of general knowledge, while encouraging the development of analytical and critical thinking skills. Our students earn an American high school diploma, as well as prepare for the French Baccalauréat, which qualifies them for both American and European Universities.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans in French that align with the school's standards.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage and motivate young children in their learning.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child.
- Observe and report on each child's progress and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians on their child's development.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with 2-3-year-old children in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Native or fluent French speaker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of French language development and early childhood development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid teaching certification and First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Candidates with 3-25 years related experience in the education field can anticipate an annual salary, ranging from: $70,050.00 (Teaching Scale 2) to $100,307.00(Teaching Scale 1). The salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience in the job, type and years of experience in the industry, education, etc. LFSF offers a negotiated salary range.
