Presale Specialist

Start Date: 3/27/2023

Contract: 8+ months (potential to Perm)

Location: REMOTE (any time is fine but Central and East are preferred)

JOB DESCRIPTION

•     The Group Benefits segment is a market leader in life and disability insurance and an expanding suite of Supplemental Health products and services, providing businesses with the employee benefits solutions necessary to attract and retain top talent. The Hartford sets the standard for helping individuals reclaim their lives in the face of disability or personal crisis.

•     The Presale Specialist understands The Hartford’s Group Benefit’s products such as Life, Disability and Supplemental Health and is on the front line of the Hartford’s Group Benefits presale process all from the comfort of their remote location.

•     The Presale Specialist will assess RFPs (request for proposals) that are submitted to the Hartford by insurance agents looking to obtain proposals for their group clients.

•     The Presale Specialist will effectively analyze the initial Requests for Proposal (RFPs), systematically scrub the data provided for completeness and in accordance with minimum data requirements.

•     They will ensure that all licensing and compliance requirements are followed prior to moving forward.

•     The Presale Specialist understands the short turnaround times and that the volume is seasonal.

•     The Presale Specialist must enter RFPs into the Hartford’s rating system timely to meet the customer’s due dates.

•     The Presale Specialist can analyze requests, prioritize strategically, and think proactively regarding customer needs and downstream impact while effectively completing the RFP.

•     The Presale Specialist will have a great sense of ownership and responsibility when it comes to fostering relationships with our Regional Account Executives and our broker community.

Job Duties:

•     Facilitates the entire RFP process from Intake process to the execution of rating the products per the request and creating a proposal all while serving as a subject matter expert.

•     Partners with the RAE and Voluntary Sales team members to maintain an active and productive relationship.

•     Understands how industry and location can affect The Hartford’s Benefit offerings

•     The Presale Specialist will review rating reports for accuracy and reasonability to better understand variances. They can articulate and consult to any drivers from the data all while following state specific or company identified requirements.

•     Works closely with Underwriting to ensure risk identified provisions or requests are addressed.

•     Ensures RAE’s pricing is within authority and communicates timely when outside of authority.

•     Provides accurate and timely delivery of proposal, meets quality guidelines and turnaround times.

•     Proactively shares feedback with leaders of the Quote Specialist team on other team members, process challenges, or other related team initiatives.

•     Manages work queue, processes re-rates and escalates urgent issues to manager and proposes work solutions as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience with financial ratings.

• Knowledge of Group Ancillary products preferred by not required.

• Intermediate Excel experience (V-lookups, pivot tables)

• Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to create and maintain effective relationships with multiple levels of the organization
  • Customer focus with the drive to exceed expectations
  • Demonstrates integrity and respect consistently
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Can balance multiple priorities with a focus on timely deliverables.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
