Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Software Engineer to develop, document, test, and debug solutions to business/mission problems. The position supports our Engineering organization’s goals to meet the current and future needs of the programs and technologies within the sector portfolio.

This role will help foster the establishment and maintenance of a world class Engineering organization in Orlando, FL.

The selected candidate will join the team in a strong matrix organization, collaborating with peers across the organization. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• New feature implementation that allows for smooth integration with pre-existing systems
• Software development using Agile Methodology
• Utilizing Jira to document bugs and enhancements
• Software engineering support for multi-language (Java, C#, C++) and complex software systems
• Enhance usability, performance, and maintainability of systems via analysis and bug fixes
• Coordinate, integrate, and resolve defects in conjunction with the test team

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university with 5 years of experience; Master's with 3 years of experience; PhD with 0 years of experience.
• An interim U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Experience with the Agile Development Method
• Experience with Java/C/C++ development and/or front-end web development including JavaScript/Typescript Frameworks (Angular JS or React), HTML, and CSS
• Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, SVN)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Software development and troubleshooting in a team environment
• Full software development lifecycle experience
• Familiarity with Atlassian Tool suite (Bitbucket/Jira/Bamboo/Confluence)
• Experience with Docker or other container technologies
• Experience with React with Typescript
• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot)
• Experience with JSON/XML/HTML
• Experience with SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle
  

Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
