Principal Finance Analyst
BUSINESS: Refinery Valves – (DeltaValve product line)
LOCATION: Sandy, UT (or Channelview, TX: hybrid work available)
REPORTS TO: Sr. Director, Finance
As the Senior Principal Finance Analyst you will be responsible for several reporting and forecasting responsibilities on a Company-wide basis. You will focus on supporting the forecasting process and providing value-added recommendations to support business growth. You will develop financial concepts for financial planning and control, perform complex technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance in the business, and provide inputs regarding strategic plans. You will coach functional leaders within the team to increase their understanding of how their efforts are connected to the financial results.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts
- Manage monthly and annual closing requirements for forecast and budget including prepare close packages, annual consolidated reports, including variance analysis to forecast and other financial analysis, and provide recommendations to Management
- Guide economic research and studies in areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and effect of governmental requirements
- Oversee the budget process and work with managers to produce and manage budgets
- Provide accounting and finance guidance to team members
- Participate in and support external, required audits, and may conduct internal audits in preparation for external auditing process, maintaining compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls
- Support the preparation and communication of audit findings and reports
- Educate auditors on processes, set-up details, and intent in ERP system
- Help manage the consolidation, aggregating, and reporting of data across multiple P&Ls
- Manage system updates, testing, troubleshooting of issues, and recommending solutions in ERP system
- Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow model and provide variance explanations
- Write, prepare, and maintain multiple reports in Adaptive Insights used for management reporting and loading forecast into corporate BPC system, and support leadership in the process
- Oversee and work with operations personnel on the annual physical inventory process including closing down of warehouses in the ERP system, running count sheets, inputting counts, and analyzing variances
- Work with and support project champions, lead or department and business leadership to provide monthly financial and transactional information to support reporting efforts for strategic department or Company-wide projects and assigned, i.e. CIRCOR Operating System (COS), Product Management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or comparable degree. Preference given to MBA/CPA
- 8 plus years of professional experience with an emphasis on financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting.
- Current knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), internal financial processes, and SOX experience
- Preference given to large, global corporate experience in the area of manufacturing and knowledge of percentage of completion accounting highly preferred
- Excellent organization and presentation skills
- Exceptional financial analysis skills
- Experience with process improvement
- Ability to educate, inform, and influence team members and efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and work to deadlines
- Proficiency with MS tools and advanced in Excel (maintain complex spreadsheets, perform complex functions, and write advanced macros), expert with ERP systems
- Knowledge of PLM and CRM
