ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION:

Position: Head Principal

Location: Flemington Elementary

Salary: In accordance with West Virginia salary, classification, experience and approved supplement

Immediate Supervisor: Superintendent

QUALIFICATONS

• Possess a valid West Virginia principal's certificate for grades Pre-K through 4th
• Provide information regarding amount of experience relevant to the position.
• Provide evidence of academic achievement.
• Provide information regarding relevant specialized training for the position.
• Provide information regarding the amount of course work and/or degree level relevant to the position.
• Provide information regarding past performance evaluations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the elementary school philosophy and best practices.
• Possess the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers and parents.
• Demonstrate knowledge of West Virginia school law and state board policies as they apply to an elementary school.
• Demonstrate the ability to recognize and effectively deal with issues related to the daily operation of an elementary school

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assume all daily operations, administration and instructional supervisory responsibility for the planning, management, operation and evaluation of Flemington Elementary School.
• Demonstrate instructional leadership to enhance school effectiveness by improving instruction and augmenting student performance.
• Demonstrate cognitive skills to gather, analyze and synthesize information to reach goals.
• Manage group behaviors to achieve consensus
• Enhance quality of total school/county organization
• Organize and delegate to accomplish goals
• Communicate effectively
• Command respect with all stakeholders to guide overall improvement
• High expectations for self and others
