Job Description
EBAD’s continued growth requires an accomplished engineer for the position of Principal Engineer, Energetics Operations reporting to the Director of Operations. The position is located in Simsbury, CT. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineering leader to become a part of a growing aerospace and defense company. The individual selected to this role will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact within our Energetics Operations team.

The Principal Engineer will be responsible for leading capability and capacity growth initiatives aligned with EBAD’s 5-year growth plan.

- Participate in review of sales forecast data and assess risk and opportunities in comparison with current manufacturing capacity.
- Lead operational capability and capacity growth initiatives using lean principles and structured problem solving. Responsible for cost and schedule management of the initiatives.
- Coordinate with Tooling Design, Engineering and Facilities Manager to identify new equipment and drive implementation schedule.
- Understand Customer Contractual flow downs and requirements to ensure solution path will meet our customers’ future needs.
- Facilitate Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis for new processes.
- Leverages experience and expertise to mentor, train, and develop individual and overall team capabilities in lean manufacturing, structured problem solving, data analysis, and production methodologies.
- Leads resolution of technical problems in area of expertise.
- Drives operational success by ensuring use of consistent, rigorous processes, tools, methods, standards, and techniques.
Requirements:
- BS / MS in an engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, computer science, chemical) and minimum of 15 years’ experience
- Required experience should include leadership of multi-function teams, product development, problem solving/root cause analysis and data analysis/critical thinking.
- Must possess excellent people skills to accompany strong written and verbal communication.
- Strong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiar and able to work in Microsoft Teams and Project.
- Knowledge of explosive material ordnance devices and/or missile/launch vehicle systems, system reliability, physics fundamentals as well as experience with manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping is beneficial.
- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance and be capable of working on U.S. DoD and ITAR restricted products.
- Experience working with senior-level decision makers.
- Aerospace & Defense industry knowledge and expertise.
