GENERAL SUMMARY:
Manufacturers bank is looking for a Principal Architect with strong banking and financial industry background, and deep passion for solving business problems. We are looking for a candidate with a proven background architecting solutions across Product and Technology teams for all Commercial (B2B) Banking Technologies. As the Principal Architect, you will own the architecture strategy, solution architecture blueprints and roadmaps for all Commercial Banking technologies. We are looking for candidates with hybrid cloud experience including Azure, GCP and on-prem. This role is key for the Digital Transformation and Enterprise IT platform modernization of the Commercial Bank.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and drive architectural vision to support the Digital Transformation and continued modernization of the Commercial Bank.
- Partner with the other Engineering and Product Heads to successfully deliver commercial banking platform capabilities from design to production.
- Responsible for architectural governance within Bank and aligning with broader SMBC bank holding company level architectural governance practices.
- Responsible for high level recommendation and validation process of all aspects of commercial banking solutions including cloud solutions, bank technology stack, and 3rd party solutions.
- Identify enterprise commercial banking solutions needs, architect appropriate internal solutions and partner and integrate with vendor solutions as appropriate.
- Define the target logical and physical architecture and infrastructure and cloud components needed to support the solutions.
- Partner with technology team to build out the needed components.
- Work closely with other architects and engineers to recommend and design banking solutions that meet customer needs.
- Work with product engineering to conduct proofs of concept, demonstrations, and implement appropriate solutions into production.
- Work with application teams to understand their functions and needs, and design solutions to enable end to end integration.
- Lead and mentor the engineering team on design, technology, and best practices for the Commercial Banking platforms.
