Role: PRN Paraprofessional

Opportunity Awaits, Inc. is seeking PRN Staff Members to work in our Day Program.

PRN staff members are called to fill in when full time staff members are out sick, off for personal days or on vacation. A notice to fill in can be same day or in advance.

Do you have flexibility to fill in as a PRN Staff member for our Day Program? Opportunity Awaits is seeking candidates who want to make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities by working as a PRN Staff member. The hours covered would be between approximately 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, as needed (when a staff member is off) based on staffing coverage required.

Responsibilities include working with the consumer throughout the day on specific goals. The ability to work with consumers based on their needs is important, so your flexibility to adapt is paramount. (You will receive assistance from members of the day program who are familiar with the consumer as support when needed.)

Opportunity Awaits is located in Gastonia, NC. We support adult with Intellectual and other Developmental Disabilities with training needed to help them improve their daily living skills, activity, integration into the community and social skills, in areas such using leisure time, personal care, and hygiene, to help resident consumers identify and acquire valued social abilities to improve self-help, socialization adaptive skills, which take place in a home or in a community.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and successfully pass a background check. Six months verifiable direct experience working with individuals with disabilities (paid or volunteer) in lieu of experience with disabilities, other relevant experience may be considered with additional on the job training. All experience must be verifiable.
