Position Summary

The Process Engineer will serve as the liaison between the Technical Services team and Plant Operations team, working to optimize production and quality on all plant equipment while ensuring the highest level of operational efficiency. The Process Engineer will champion a continuous improvement mindset at the plant and be an active resource to the plant management and production teams. This person in this position must be able to lead process improvement teams in order to manage the coordination and implementation of a variety of process improvements affecting the overall production output of the facility. The ability to communicate at all levels of the organization will be critical to success in this position as there will be reporting requirements for both up and down the organization. This position will report to the Director of Technical Services.

Essential Functions

• Evaluate production, equipment and process related problems and recommend corrections and/or improvements.
• Identify and evaluate key throughput bottlenecks.
• Gather and evaluate operational data and trends to achieve plant optimization and steady operation.
• Manage the coordination, implementation and standardization of process improvements.
• Provide procedures and guidelines to the operations management team regarding operational settings, variances and corrections.
• Plan, organize and perform or supervise process trials including field and lab measurements.
• Identify and improve critical process controls and automation schemes.
• Be able to scope and execute small capital projects for plant efficiency or upgrades.
• Participate in production, project engineering, maintenance, safety and environmental compliance.
• Provide weekly updates on critical KPIs related to operations, quality, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field, preferably mechanical or chemical
• Prior experience in a manufacturing operation; demonstrated 5 + years of engineering-specific experience
• Must have understanding of process optimization, control systems, and data analytics
• Mastery of Lean/Six Sigma skills are a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook)
• Must possess strong computer, statistical and analytical skills
• Must have keen sense of professionalism and exhibit competency for best practices in business
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and work under minimal supervision
• Display high attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
• Must be committed to being an active team member
