This position is responsible for performing design feasibility reviews according to TSCO's manufacturing capabilities. Prepares and maintains prints and XYZ coordinate tables, production drawings and other related documentation per ANSI standards completely and accurately considering methods of manufacture, tolerance, and their effect on related parts. Provides information, prints and support to production as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Performs feasibility review of product for manufacturing, reviewing drawings and components.
• Reviews current tool list to ensure product can be manufactured, and requests tool price as needed.
• Reviews materials to ensure product can be manufactured, and requests material price as needed.
• Create XYZ/LRA data to assist production group, modifies as needed.
• Requests procurement as needed to assist cost estimation process.
• Creates 2D and 3D models as needed during feasibility review of product.
• Performs calculations and tolerance studies to confirm feasibility of product for manufacturing.
• Reviews and maintains engineering project design layouts, production drawings and other related documentation per ANSI standards completely and accurately considering methods of manufacture, tolerance, and their effect on related parts.
• Possesses understanding of APQP process and role for NPI.
• Possesses a total understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Checks dimensions of parts, material types, component fit-ups, and assembly completeness.
• Makes any necessary changes to customer part design to fit manufacturing processes.
• Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established drafting specifications and standards.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences.
• Understands and practices the company quality procedures.

Performance Skills:

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics particularly as related to tolerancing, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry are desirable
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required.
• Knowledge of GD&T and linear tolerance.
• Ability to interpret specifications and historical plans and documents.

Education & Experience:

• High School/GED
• 2 years relative work experience
