Product Engineer - Vehicle Integration

Role Summary:

Evaluate and align customer needs in the NAR related to the complete vehicle system.

Familiar with overall VW-Portfolio and platform-module context.

A strong view to the regionally BIC-competitors

Systems engineering Vehicle integration coordinator (70%)

• Coordinate and Evaluate / discuss concept-alternatives and address them in a presentable format

• Define and align requirements in the NAR , address them to the FUSE (System Engineering process) in VWGoA – committees and VW AG-headquarter

• Benchmark local solutions in complete vehicle systems engineering to be considered

• Summarize all relevant requirements and address and track to the needed systems (AVW , JIRA)

Project-related committee work (40%)

• Interact and communicate with involved partners in VWGoA , VWdeMexico VW AG

• Collecting relevant requirements from other parties like marketing, sales, quality, benchmarking analysis etc.

Overall early phase engineering activities (10%)

• Synchronize and align complete vehicle system requirements with other engineering partners at VW

• Continuously monitor and benchmark latest competitors for measurement advancements

• 5-7 years of engineering experience in Body system engineering

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or related field

Education - Desired:

• Master’s Degree in passenger car engineering, concept development or related field

• Comprehensive knowledge of complete vehicle integration
• Good understanding of Advanced vehicle development and Lifecycle management process
• Excellent creative thinking and communication skills. Able to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external business partners
• Familiarity with Systems-engineering process ,especially in the early phase/front loading window of Vehicle development

Specialized Skills - Required:

• Understanding of US automotive market, individual market requirements, and trends
• Knowledge of automotive customer needs in vehicle concepts – Voice of customer (VOC)
• Familiarity with Advanced product quality planning(APQP) and Benchmarking principles
• Proven record in design, packaging, engineering development of vehicle sub systems and components for Sedan, SUV,MPV and/or other commuter vehicles
• Vehicle series development experience
• Strong understanding of vehicle development gates/milestones & ability to partner with engineering & design teams across the region to ensure high impact

Specialized Skills - Desired:

• Familiar with automotive CAD tools & processes.
• Familiar with CAD-data management
• Familiar with the VW-PEP ( VW Vehicle development process)
• Familiar with System engineering principles/process
• Familiarity to manage complex program requirements

Work Flexibility:

We work globally with some great teams and partners. You must be willing and able to occasionally travel to worldwide locations in order to:

• Participate in concept-committees or workshops
• Attend virtual - meetings with international engineering partners (Europe, China , South America…)

Compensation:

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.

• In the city of Oxnard, CA, the salary range is $85,900 - 124,600.
