Unication is seeking a qualified Product Technical Support Representative to join our team. This is a customer facing, technology centered role responsible for supporting Unication’s end-user customers and dealers using our products. Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of Analog 2-Tone and P25 Conventional & Trunked radio fundamentals and be familiar with LMR radio communication configurations (including simplex, mobile relay/repeater, analog, digital, P25, DMR, 2-Tone Paging and encryption).
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and product support to Unication’s nationwide network of dealers & end-user customers using our pager/radio communication products.
- Work independently to identify/ address / fix product failures experienced by various users over multiple system protocols, including Analog, APCO-P25 and DMR (Analog Conventional 2-Tone, P25 Conventional, P25 Phase I & II Trunking, DMR Tier 1&2).
- Oversee testing of new products, enhancements to existing products and new software/firmware.
- Communicate with customers to collect field data and resolve issues.
- Communicate suggestions for improvements of products/processes that would enhance the effectiveness/ performance of products.
- Act as a liaison between engineers & customers for any reported issues/concerns with product that arise.
- Respond to and resolve support tickets using helpdesk and record all information and documentation.
Preferred Characteristics:
- Knowledge in performing systematic, process-oriented troubleshooting to determine root cause of issue.
- Experience/ knowledge of tone signaling formats (Ex. 2-tone sequential, CTCSS, Quick Call II/ 2-tone over P25, DCSS, MDC-1200).
- Experience with Unication, Motorola, L3Harris and/or Kenwood Pagers/Radios/Portables and using radio CPS (Computer Programming Software) to create code plugs and program radio products.
- Experience/ knowledge of Public Safety Communications or LMR Radio Systems.
- Prior experience using communications test equipment such as RF Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzer, Wattmeter, Frequency Meters, Deviation meter, etc. considered a PLUS.
- Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner with all levels of personnel/customers to be effectively and widely understood.
