The Production Supervisor oversees all shifts of extrusion production ensuring safety procedures are followed, products are on-schedule and within specified quality standards. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and implements improvement in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Position is responsible for setting the example to all employees on a regular basis on achieving results, teamwork, and presenting a positive attitude & perception towards the workplace.
Essential Functions
- Provide daily leadership, enforce all safety rules, work in a safe & appropriate manner, and ensure all safety related incidents are documented & communicated.
- Achieve stated production and yield goals with the highest efficiencies.
Management of 3 leads and 24 - hourly operators.
- Facilitates shift-to-shift communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
- Implement new or drive current manufacturing plans while improving established procedures for maintaining high standards of production efficiency, ensuring that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Manage manufacturing policies, practices and training programs designed to lead the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
- Ensure Pre-Start Ups, Daily Production Reports, Operator Checks, QC Checks, and other necessary production paperwork must be completed on time and correctly 100% of the time.
- Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity across all operations.
- Oversee housekeeping of all areas
- Assist maintenance in entering needed work orders.
- Performs other duties, appropriate to the role, as may be required by organization.
- Develop, track and report all departmental KPI’s to reduce expenses and improve efficiencies.
- Safety testing & OSHA auditing responsibilities
- Assist in both finished and raw good inventory.
- Provide feedback on employee performance through SWOT/ face to face meetings and annual reviews.
- Submit employee rankings based on joint predetermined criteria.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Production floor environment 50-75% of the time transitioning to an office environment in the future. This position resides in a manufacturing/warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. The noise level in work environment is usually moderate to high. Proper PPE will be administered. Employee will be frequently exposed to mechanical parts, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, Technical degree or equivalent years of experience
- 5-7 years in a Manufacturing environment or relative experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a Manufacturing leadership role
- 1-3 years in a Production Management role
- Documented leadership experience
