Velocity is a high-end classic car restoration facility in Cantonment, Florida. The company elevates the classic vehicle experience by modernizing vintage vehicles. Originally heralded as a leading specialty restoration shop for Classic Ford Broncos winning major industry awards, it is growing into a complete vehicle production facility. Velocity produces “restomod” restorations where vintage vehicles are upgraded with modern parts, drivetrain, and technology making them functionally new while maintaining an original or vintage aesthetic. The company has pioneered a custom classic vehicle renovation via an assembly line process, ensuring a high level of quality control, with a known price, and significantly decreased build time. We have a talented team of 100+ employees and a 135,000 square foot facility where we are continuing to add additional production lines and new vehicle offerings.


Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized production manager to create production schedules, oversee production processes and ensure that the required materials are selected and purchased. Production Managers are also responsible for ensuring that equipment is functioning correctly and that health and safety protocols are adhered to.


To be successful as a production manager you must be able to multitask and oversee several operations at a time. A good production manager has excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

About Your Role

  • Manage and develop multiple teams of technicians.
  • Be the “go to” person for knowledge and decision making within the department.
  • Schedule staffing and troubleshoot issues to ensure Velocity vehicles are completed on time with the best quality possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating a production schedule.
  • Training new employees.
  • Scheduling regular maintenance for equipment.
  • Purchasing and maintaining required materials and inventory.
  • Ensuring that health and safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Work with Human Resources to hire, train, performance manage, and terminate employees as needed.
  • Ensure employees have up to date assembly manuals and are well versed in how to follow them.
  • Schedule staff and delegate tasks accordingly.
  • Sign off that each station’s tasks are completed correctly.
  • Hold employees accountable for following Velocity policies and procedures with a respectable approach.
  • Conduct and participate in meetings, update meeting scorecards promptly.
  • Monitor and answer important communications from executive leadership in a timely manner.
  • Form and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Attend Velocity events and shows if needed.
  • Prepare and maintain annual budget.
  • Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining the utmost quality.
  • Be an advocate for Velocity.
  • Continue lifting Velocity’s culture in a positive direction to retain and attract top talent.
  • Other assigned tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Car enthusiast with knowledge in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Ambition to own a process and continuously improve upon it.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback with a mindset for constant learning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, networking, and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership role model with ability to coach and motivate employees.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to plan, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and Google Suite.
  • Consistent in use of professional verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, on call as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work.
  • Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous production/manufacturing industry leadership experience

Physical Demands (to include but not limited to)

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc.
  • Sit for long periods of time working at a desk, boardroom table, or at a computer.
  • Walk long distances across shop floor to communicate and gather information as needed.
  • Must be able to navigate through various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and place items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Occasional reaching overhead and below knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures for long periods of time.
