The Production Planner is in charge of creating constrained engineering and production plans, material plans and work-in-progress inventory rationalization, including sales in excess of invoicing, in order to improve service levels and optimize working capital. In this role, you will be contributing to customer satisfaction, profitability, supplier relations, and various internal customer driven enhancements. The Material Planner is responsible for procuring and managing inventory, managing prime sourcing channels, engaging domestic and international suppliers, quickly resolving open issues, contributing to overall customer satisfaction, and is customer focused. The focus of the production planner is to support the rebuild and reconditioning department. The planner provides integral support to supply projects with the proper material to execute quickly for the customer.

Your responsibilities

  • Material forecasting and planning for Robot refurbishment projects
  • Procurement of new configurable Robot Systems
  • Manage and maintain inventory to ensure proper service level for best overall customer satisfaction
  • Work with suppliers to improve ABB’s position in the market by negotiating reduced lead times, reduced costs, and by maintaining positive and productive supplier-customer relationships
  • Material master data administration within SAP
  • Develop process improvements and enhancements to improve daily activities, and to improve the way we do business
  • Able to react fast in emergencies and find solutions to minimize negative impacts on end customers; use critical thinking in difficult and challenging situations
  • Resolve urgent issues using problem solving, research, and negotiation skills. Fast learner, highly efficient worker, team player, customer-oriented

Your background

  • Bachelor’s in Business, supply chain, or related field and/or at least 2 years’ experience in material planning or inventory management, order handling, customer service, and warehousing experience
  • Must be able to facilitate a meeting when required
  • Ability to manage multiple demands fast and effectively
  • Proven teamwork success
  • General ERP experience, SAP preferred
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
