We are now hiring for a Production Unit Manager ! This position will be accountable for their assigned assets and team to ensure their team meets the defined business needs and objectives for safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, waste, and cost through improved equipment reliability and improving the skills and contributions of each team member.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and own assigned assets. Partner with support functions and planning team on day-to-day priorities.
- Work with maintenance to ensure timely support is provided for preventative maintenance and other outages.
- Manage a team of operators to safely operate high speed manufacturing equipment, perform all required quality checks, drive continuous improvement and maintain proper housekeeping conditions/standards, organization and overall cleanliness of assigned assets/lines.
- Responsible for on-boarding training, coaching, and correcting the actions and activities of team members assigned to business unit. This includes assigning trainers, ensuring training meets expectations, monitoring of team progress, adjusting workflow, promoting safety and coaching behavior.
- Establish continuous improvement through lean initiatives in production. Report production improvements and failures and recommended solutions. Establish key performance indicators related to strategy that track progress.
- Lead the development of Asset objectives and goals/action plans to achieve them.
- Lead organizational change, builds relationships, and make good use of available resources.
- Problem solve and set priorities, generating new ideas and improved ways of working while maintaining effective control.
- Communicate effectively across functions, teams and shifts in order to drive improvements.
Management Responsibilities:
- Typically oversees professional employees/teams OR manages non-professional employees through Supervisors in manufacturing, distribution or office environments
- Day-to-day operations of a group of employees
- May have limited budgetary responsibility and usually contributes to budgetary impact
- Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies
- Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning
- Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of operational management experience in a high speed manufacturing environment and at least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work OR 2 year technical degree and at least 5 years of operational management experience in a high speed manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated above-average abilities around decision making, and analytical troubleshooting.
- Must be willing to work varying hours (days or nights) at times.
Nice to have but not required:
- Degree in Engineering field.
- Experience in the absorbent hygiene business or consumer products.
- 2 years Leadership experience leading a High Performing Team
- Experience working in a Lean and/or TPM environment
