Position Description:

The University of Louisville School of Nursing (SON) is growing and seeks to hire a junior- to senior-level tenure eligible or tenure track research faculty with a focused research program.� Building the School of Nursing research portfolio is instrumental to the continued growth of our PhD program and to increase funding and data-based peer-reviewed publications, and to provide research mentoring for students interested in new research areas. The faculty member hired for this position is expected to aggressively seek research funding from sources such as NIH, national foundations, and other high-profile research funding sources. Competitive salary, start-up funds, and research support services will be provided. In addition to internal mentoring, external mentor funds are available for junior faculty members. As the UofL School of Nursing expands we are also endeavoring to expand our research enterprise, thus we are not limiting the tenure-track/tenured positions to specific research trajectories.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate in nursing or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to write research grants.
  • Identified research trajectory.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teaching scholarship.
  • Effective teaching experience in multiple course delivery modalities, including online and hybrid.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  • Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in Kentucky.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in course development, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Record of successful grant submission and/or funding.
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Robust knowledge of salient research, effective pedagogical practices, adult learning theories, instructional design, higher education workforce trends, assessment techniques, scholarly research practices, teaching practices, and teaching technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing face-to-face, hybrid, and online teaching and learning.
  • Experience in providing instruction and consulting with faculty on effective student-centered teaching and learning, teaching with technology, universal design for learning, and teaching in all modalities.
  • Experience developing curricular programming and educational programs with broad campus collaboration.
